Get to know the fairy tale sea oasis and enjoy the combination of beautiful nature and traditions

Croatia is a country with over 1000 islands, of which only 67 are inhabited. A large percentage of those are still somewhat undiscovered islands, at least as far as tourist commercialization is concerned, and they are a ideal vacation for all those who want to escape at least for a short time from mass tourism.

The island of Susak

In the north of Croatia is the island of Susak, an island known for its beauty, sandy beaches, folk customs and traditions.Only 200 people live on the island, most of them emigrated to the United States long ago. There are no noisy bars and nightclubs on the island, all residents speak a special dialect that not even other citizens of Croatia understand. The most famous sandy beaches are the Bok beach and the Spiaza beach, and of the cultural sights on the island you must visit the parish church Sv. Nicholas, a chapel on the cape, the lighthouse and vineyards.

Pakleni Islands

An indispensable destination for all lovers of nautical tourism are the Pakleni Islands, a group of 21 islands that are located between the city of Split and the island of Vis and with their magical beauty they are the guarantee of an unforgettable sea adventure. The largest island in this group is the island of St. Clement with with its ACI marina Palmižana. In Palmižana you can find a shop, restaurant and use some more of the blessings of modern civilization. Certainly, the most beautiful bay is Taršće bay in which you can enjoy the turquoise blue sea and untouched nature.

Heart-shaped islands - the island of Galešnjak

One of the most famous islands is the islet of Galešnjak, in the shape of a heart, which enchanted the famous World star Beyonce and has become one of the most recognizable symbols of the Adriatic coast. What is perhaps unknown to the general public is that in addition to the island of Galešnjak, there are several more scroll-shaped islands and they are all located in the vicinity of Zadar. The islet Rončić, the islet of Lisac and the islet of Mrtonjak are part of this magical group that invites everyone in love, and those a little less, to visit these places and enjoy these little wonders that it is created by nature.

The island of Šolta

The island of Šolta is a somewhat lesser known tourist island, only an hour away from the city of Split. In almost all places you will find traces of the past, which in synergy with the beautiful nature and folk customs allow each guest to feel the Mediterranean as it was once. Unforgettable delicacies that you must try on Šolta are definitely Šolta olives, homemade honey and the wine Dobričić. Cyclist trails are available for all lovers of active holidays, as well as the possibility of diving and sailing.

Dugi Island

Located in the vicinity of the city of Zadar, is best known for its white cliffs and sandy beaches. Do not forget to visit the Telašćica National Park, where you’ll find rich flora and fauna, and if you are lucky you can see dolphins swimming along the shore or eagles as they nest on its tops.

The island of Vis

Until 1990, the island of Vis was closed to the public, to all tourists and foreigners, because it was an important military center at sea for many years in former Yugoslavia. The remnants of those times on the island can still be seen today, such as a military tunnel for submarines. Vis experienced its popularization in 2017 when scenes from the movie "Mamma Mia" were filmed on it.Near Vis is the islet of Bišćevo where the Blue Cave of incredibly intense aquamarine color is located ,a stunning memory for every visitor .

These Adriatic islands are just a small part of the magnificent Adriatic coast, which will enchant everyone with their beauty!
